The Story of My Life, As Performed by Sandee Moore

I started this project when I moved to a new city. I realized that the process of getting to know someone was the process of exchanging personal histories. I asked people that I knew casually to tell me the "story of their life" in 5 minutes or less. I later performed this project at the MacKenzie Art Gallery where I had the opportunity to invite strangers to tell me the story of their life in 5 minutes or less.
I memorized each person's story, as well as vocal quirks and physical mannerisms. I was attempting to sympathetically inhabit the narrative in order to understand that person better.
I record my performance for video and later review the tape with the person who gave me their story. Their evaluation of both their own and my performance is included in the video as a second audio track.
